Hunting Regulations

These dates and limits are for September 1, 2022 - March 15, 2023 only.

Public hunters over the age of 12 must obtain permit

No overnight camping is allowed on Feel Free To Hunt lands

Non-Toxic shot is required for waterfowl hunting.

Alcohol is prohibited on all Yakama Nation owned or managed lands

The use of electronic decoys is permitted on the YN Reservation

EXTENDED QUAIL SEASON - Only the Yakima River Corridor (east of US 97 from Union Gap to the junciton of US 97 and S.R. 22 and east of S.R. 22 from junction of US 97 and S.R. 22 to Mabton). Jan. 1 - 15, 2022.

Daily Bag Limit - 10, Possession Limit - 30.

Please, park your vehicles away from duck and goose hunting areas. Parked vehicles affect the success of decoy sets. THANK YOU.

2022 - 2023 HUNTING DAYS SATUS WILDLIFE RECREATION AREA (SWRA)

All Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays: October 15th, 2022 through January 29, 2023

These Holidays:
November 11, 24 and 25, 2022
December 24 and 25, 31 2022
Jan. 1, Jan 16 and everyday Jan 24-29 2023

*Open for dove and early goose seasons by walkin access only

The SWRA is located on Satus Longhouse Road approximately 13 miles southeast of Toppenish on Highway 22

NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING ALLOWED

ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL ALLOWED

NON-TOXIC SHOT REQUIRED FOR ANY WATERFOWL

SOUTH LATERAL A WILDLIFE AREA Special Public Hunting Regulations
Public hunting allowed only on Wednesdays and Sundays**
Public hunting access by reservation only
Contact the Wildlife Resource Management Program for reservations
Beginning Monday mornings @9am the week prior to request,
Call Sandra Celestine at 865-5121 ext 6307 **These regulations apply to public hunters only. Enrolled members of the Yakama Nation may hunt on any day - no reservation required

Wild Turkey Hunting Absolutely no fall-winter turkey hunting allowed. The Yakama Nation will be offering 8 wild turkey hunts in the spring of 2023. Special Spring turkey permits will be issued by raffle drawing.

DUCK DAILY BAG
7 ducks - to include not more than:
2 hen mallards
1 pintail
2 redheads
2 canvasback
2 goldeneye
2 scaup (closed 15 Oct - 4 Nov 2022)

YOUTH PUBLIC HUNTING SEASON

For ages 17 and under
17-18 September 2022
ONLY Ducks, Geese, Coots, Cock Pheasant, and Quail may be harvested Daily bag and possession limits are the same as those set for the regular seasons *Valid YN hunting and fishing permit required for hunters aged 13-17 years old. Hunters 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult with a valid YN hunting and fishing permit but are not required to have there own permit.
